This site provides an overview of important information relating to the application process.
We have tried to address the common issues and questions applicants have during the process, therefore going over the information here is highly recommended.
Of course, if you still have questions feel free to contact us.
The admission guidelines (in german and english) for the INFOTECH program can be found here.
Read this information (and the requirements page) carefully. Failure to follow these guidelines could result in your appliation being rejected.
INFOTECH offers two admission periods per year: Summer and Winter
The application period for each is ca. 9 months before the first semester starts:
Summer Semester:
Application - May 15 - July 15
Semester begin - April 1st
Winter Semester:
Application - November 15 - January 15
Semester begin - October 1
Applications submitted after the application deadlines can not be considered. You will have to reapply during the next application period.
On our Requirements page you will find a detailed list of the admission requirements.
Summarized, the main requirements are:
- Bachelor degree in a related field (electrical engineering, computer science, etc.)
- Qualifying CGPA average
- University that issued the bachelor degree is listed in Anabin (recognition that degrees issued by the awarding institution are recognized as being equivalent to a german degree)
- Proof of min. C1 english language proficiency. See requirements page for which types of proof (IELTS/TOEFL etc.) we accept. MOI (Method of instruction) is not accepted!
Note, the minimum requirements listed are the miminum levels required to be considered for admission. Failure to meet the minimum requirements listed will result in an application being excluded from consideration.
Qualifying for admission does not guarantee admission.
Admission to the program is highly competitive as we receive more applications than we can admit. Therefore, those whose qualifications surpass our minimum requirements have the competetive advantage.
Which documents are required can be found on our Requirements page and in C@mpus.
All of these documents - with the exception of the bachelor degree certificate - are required at the time of application.
Exceptions can not be made, and applications submitted without these documents are incomplete.
These are:
- Proof of a completed bachelor degree in a related field (Bachelor Degree certificate).
Note: Applicants can apply and be admitted without their final degree certificate. However, enrollment is only possible once the final certificate has been submitted. Applicants have up to the third semester after application to submit the final certificate.
- Official bachelor degree transcripts and proof of CGPA
- University's grading scale, often included in the official transcripts (only use the final grade granted by your university - NOT a conversion to the German system)
- Proof of sufficient english proficiency (MOI is not accepted)
- Completed adjunct form (Only this form! Applications missing the adjunct/submitting forms from other programs/Unis may be deemed incomplete)
- For applicants with a degree from a university in China, India or Vietnam: APS Certificate
If you already have a masters degree: We require your bachelor degree and transcripts. You may attach your master degree documents as additional documents but they generally have no bearing on your application.
We DO NOT require letters of recommendation or CVs. You may submit them if you wish, but they have no bearing on your application.
Please upload all required documents to your application in C@mpus.
During the application period changes can be made to the application at any time. After the application deadline has passed no more changes can be made and no further documents can be accepted.
The entire application (and later enrollment) process is completed in C@mpus.
We can not accept any documents/applications that are submitted by email.
More information about applying can be found here.
Questions or problems related to your application in C@mpus should be directed at the Department of Application, Admission and Enrollment (BZE): https://www.uni-stuttgart.de/en/study/application/application-admission-enrollment/
or
If it is related to a technical issue with C@mpus, their support team: support@campus.uni-stuttgart.de
Please ensure that the contact information (email and mailing address) in C@mpus is up to date (this applies throughout your entire studies as well as after graduation).
Approximately 1-2 months after the application deadline applicants will be informed of the admission decisions.
As mentioned, just meeting the application requirements does not ensure admission. Since admission to the program is highly competitive, only meeting the requirements (and not exceeding them) does not give an applicant a competitve advantage.
Admission decisions are final. Requests for reconsideration can not be accepted.
Congratulations to those who are admitted. You can find information about the next steps in the post-admission information section.
For those we were unable to offer admission to: We appreciate your interest in our program and welcome you to reapply for the next semester. Due to the changing competitive landscape each application period, your application might have success another semester.
Although it may appear in C@mpus that not all documents have been checked, rest assure that we have.
A few tips:
- In Germany, especially at the master level, students are expected to take responsibiltiy for their studies. They are expected to make an attempt to inform themselves about what is required of them and then seek help to fill in any missing information.
- Deadlines are deadlines. There are no acceptable reasons for not keeping deadlines during the application process.
- Admission to a German university only provides the right to take up studies and - after fulfillment of all obligations of the study and examination regulations - receive the intended academic degree. It does not include anything further. Dormitories, scholarships etc. have to be requested separately, using defined procedures.
